PODIUM FOR ITALY AT THE SUPERMOTO FOR NATIONS

Excellent third place for Italy in the world championship for nations held in Mettet (Belgium) and sixteenth for the under 23 team out of nineteen participating teams.

The tests and races took place on the permanent circuit, Italy second during the qualifying tests.

The first heat saw at the start the two standard bearers of the BRT team, Filippetti and Monticelli, immediately on the ground Filippetti during the first lap, during the restart he was hit by an opponent fortunately without consequences, seventh detached from the first after having recovered two positions he finished fifth, Monticelli twelfth started from eighteenth place at the start. The result was below expectations but our bishops did not give up and entered the second heat more aggressive than ever.

At the start of Monticelli and Sammartin, our driver Diego Monticelli fought like a lion throughout the race, winning second position after a hand-to-hand fight with several riders, an excellent sixth place also for Elia Sammartin who started from eighteenth place.

Third heat at via Filippetti from second place and Sammartin from eighteenth, the race was compromised by a technical failure that excluded Filippetti from the race when he was in fifth position, an excellent sixth place for Sammartin.

Italy finished third on the podium behind France and France Junior, an excellent result that could have been a second without the inconveniences that occurred during the races.

Unfortunately, these situations can happen in races as we are always looking for the best performance.

For the record, France in Mettet was still unbeatable and credit for the winners.

Italy has an excellent team, one of the strongest in the world and for 2023, as always, we will try to excel.

As for the Junior team present with the BRT Frassino team and Ferrari at their international debut, they achieved an honorable result by hitting the qualification for the final eliminating nations with teams A, Israel, Greece and Lithuania, finishing sixteenth.

It was not easy at all, Frassino defended himself well in the midst of the world supermoto Bigs with a twenty-fourth in the first round and a thirty-first in the third after a few too many crashes.
